The rights holder never loses ownership or control over their content and has the opportunity to actively designate content which is expected to be of high value and that which has royalty free characteristics. The high volume / low value clips co-exist with premium-priced collectibles on the platform, but the pricing and IP tracking is managed via the back-end, using SmartContracts to protect the interests of the rights holder.

We do not offer ‘free’ download. Users must pay to access content and contributors must register themselves as rights holders on the platform. Any registered user can upload their content for free. These “casual” contributors enter into a 50/50 royalty split arrangement in return for our processing, tagging and storing services, and the distribution and sale of their content on the platform. This content may be sold to other rights holders on our platform for the purposes of fan engagement campaigns and data analytics. We believe that we have created the first platform to give a direct economic incentive to fans by rewarding them for uploading their content, while protecting rights holder content from piracy.

Using our platform is easy. All content is uploaded in its raw form either by the rights holders themselves or by our researchers, at a cost.  Our AI processes the streamed content and breaks it down to create individual clips which are automatically logged and tagged to enable detailed and immediate search.  Users of our platform can then license individual clips as either royalty free or rights managed clips. Neither the creator nor the user is required to clip, edit or search through streamed content to find the content they require and if they want an automated package of clips, a pre-determined search string will automatically deliver edited highlights or packages.

We believe that our platform opens up vast opportunities to bring fans closer to the experiences they love. Not only can fans buy clips (royalty free or as digital collectibles, trading cards, etc.), they are able to upload their own clips. This in turn benefits other rights holders by expanding archives and providing valuable data insights into user behaviors.

Restrictions on usage and pricing parameters are all factored into the rights holder algorithm. Piracy is commonplace and as we know, even the best-intentioned YouTube users are inclined to rip low resolution content for social media for personal use. This is only one example of where piracy can be avoided, instead adding incremental benefit to a rights holder’s revenue model.

We believe that the technology which underpins our platform is the only GDPR-compliant facial recognition system on the market. This gives rights holders comfort that the management of their content is safe, secure and compliant with regulations. The matter of compliance is increasingly important and the structure of the processing, management and reporting of data associated with content is a fundamental building block of our infrastructure.

Our algorithm dynamically prices content from a “base” cost. Where royalty free content is concerned, this is against a rate which reflects both technical quality and usage. Where rights managed content is concerned, the model is more sophisticated and can accommodate distribution of revenue to participants to the rights including user generated content creators. Prices reflect specific usage requirements and term and can accommodate discounts on “associated” clips. For instance, an alternative camera angle of the same shot may be offered at a discounted rate after the first clip to “upsell” the user and increase the aggregated revenues for rights holders.  Conversely, a “reserve” or a “negotiation” clause can be built into the algorithm to trigger a manual negotiation or bidding process on high-value clips and collectibles. Once fully developed and integrated, each clip on our platform will have a base price and users can see the level at which that clip is trading, either increasing or decreasing in value to reflect consumer demand. Content which is “trending” will have a higher price than less popular content and rights holders, content creators and buyers are able to track the value of each clip at any time, much like a stock exchange.

At any time, the rights holder can decide not to sell all or part of their archive. Content creators and rights holders are able to lease “vaults” and we charge vault fees to the owner of the content, much like a safety deposit box. By leasing vaults, rights holders retain control over content they wish to protect versus content they choose to make publicly available.
